1. Agreement

By installing or using Driver Transport App ("the app") you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to the Privacy Policy linked from this page. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The first time you open it — and again whenever we materially update these documents — you will be asked to confirm acceptance inside the app.

2. Who you are contracting with

These terms are between you and the developer (an independent UK-based sole trader). They are not between you and Apple. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Contact: help@drivertransportapp.passpilot.uk

3. Licence

Subject to your purchase and these terms, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not resell, sublicence, decompile or attempt to extract the app's source code beyond what UK law permits.

These terms replace Apple's Standard EULA for Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula). Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app and is not responsible for any product warranties to the extent not effectively disclaimed by these terms.

4. What the app does

Driver Transport App is a personal job log for UK vehicle transport drivers. It stores jobs, travel legs, costs, photos and notes on the device, lets you scan job sheets, reg plates, VINs and receipts with the camera, lets you dictate notes by voice, and lets you export jobs to PDF. On Pro it adds vehicle and MOT checks, address autocomplete and postcode lookup, scan-to-fill on the collection and delivery address blocks, clean (unwatermarked) PDF export and optional automatic cloud backup to App Cloud or Google Drive.

The app does not file claims, submit timesheets, dispatch jobs, or communicate with any third-party fleet system on your behalf.

5. Free and Pro tiers

The app has two tiers:

  • Free — up to 20 new jobs per calendar month, manual entry only, watermarked PDF export, no vehicle / MOT check, no address autocomplete or postcode lookup, no scan-to-fill, no cloud backup.
  • Pro — unlimited jobs, vehicle and MOT check, UK address autocomplete, postcode lookup, scan-to-fill on collection and delivery, clean PDF export, optional automatic cloud backup. Pro is sold as Pro Monthly or Pro Annual at the prices shown on the in-app paywall.

Tier limits and pricing may change in future versions. Existing subscribers will be shown any price change before their next renewal as required by Apple.

6. Subscription terms

  • Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is taken by Apple through your App Store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel auto-renewal in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Driver Transport App. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; Pro features remain available until then.
  • Receipt validation and entitlement state are handled by RevenueCat on our behalf, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Refunds

App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue App Store refunds directly. Statutory consumer rights you hold in the UK or EU are not affected.

8. Vehicle, address and scan accuracy

Vehicle make, MOT and tax data are supplied by the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service. Address suggestions are supplied by AWS Location Service and Postcodes.io. The on-device scanner reads text from photographs of job sheets, registration plates, VIN tags and receipts. All of these can be incomplete, delayed or wrong — verify against the physical V5C, MOT certificate or paperwork before relying on what the app shows.

9. Cloud backup

Cloud backup (to App Cloud or to your Google Drive) is a Pro feature that you switch on yourself. We provide it on a best-effort basis. Backups can fail because of network problems, account problems on the destination, app bugs, or routine maintenance. Treat the local copy on your phone as the authoritative one and export important jobs to PDF.

App Cloud backups are stored as a single blob in Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible object storage in the UK / EU), keyed by your device ID, and transmitted over HTTPS. Each new backup overwrites the previous one — only the most recent copy per device is kept.

Photos attached to your jobs are also uploaded to App Cloud as individual files (one R2 object per photo) shortly after you add or replace them, so they survive iOS reinstalls and updates that may strand the local copy. Each image is shrunk before upload while staying clearly legible — vehicle photos at up to 1600 px long-edge, receipts at up to 1200 px. Per-device storage is capped at 10 GB; you can clear all cloud-side photos at any time from Settings.

Google Drive backups go to a hidden "appDataFolder" that only this app can read or write. The app cannot see your other Drive files.

The Restore Code shown in Settings is the only way to recover an App Cloud backup on a different device. If you lose it, the backup cannot be recovered: we store only its SHA-256 hash, never the secret itself. Treat the Restore Code like a password.

We are not liable for lost backup data. See clause 12.

10. Your responsibilities

  • Do not operate the app while driving.
  • Export PDFs of jobs you need to keep before uninstalling or clearing app data.
  • Confirm with your employer or client that the records the app produces meet their requirements.
  • Use vehicle and address lookups only for legitimate work-related purposes, in line with DVLA's, AWS's and Postcodes.io's terms.
  • Keep your Restore Code private.
  • Do not attempt to bypass tier limits, rate limits or paywalls, automate requests against our server, or use the app to scrape DVLA, AWS or any other third-party service.

11. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that DVLA, AWS, Postcodes.io, RevenueCat, Google Drive, our own server, on-device scanning or speech recognition will be available or accurate at any given moment.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total liability arising out of or in connection with the app, in any 12-month period, is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the app or your most recent 12 months of subscription, or (b) £50.

We are not liable for lost earnings, lost or corrupted data, missed jobs, fines or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK consumer law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove access to server-backed features (App Cloud backup, vehicle and MOT check, address autocomplete, postcode lookup, remote configuration) if we reasonably believe they are being abused — for example through automated scraping or attempts to bypass rate limits. The local app and your local data are unaffected.

We may also remotely block a specific device or wipe its locally stored job data via the remote-configuration channel where required by law, to address a serious security incident, or to enforce these terms. Identity keys (the device ID and secret hash) are preserved so that a Restore Code can still be redeemed elsewhere.

14. Changes

We may update the app, the Privacy Policy and these terms over time. Material changes update the version date at the top of this page and you will be asked to re-accept inside the app before continuing. Continuing to use the app after re-accepting constitutes agreement to the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, again without prejudice to your right to bring a claim in your local courts as a consumer.
